This rumour is probably false and is of low priority – here's why:
Investigations have confirmed that the attack was political and was not carries out by the Alhabaab. The governer of Lamu has been charged though released on bail, and top politicians and business men are still being investigated.

At the moment the death toll has reached 48 people according to the media. Attack started at 8pm Sunday night. Investigation on who the attacks were carried out is currently underway by the government. Once the President visits Mpeketoni today and investigation reports released we shall update.
